What’s full of Promises?: Hold Tight Day 4

It was one of those days.

The morning starts off by sleeping through the snooze button.  The egg is dropped on the floor and oozed out making a mess to mop up while everyone’s running around trying to quickly eat breakfast before going to school and work.  Later, the mixer is turned on too fast and ingredients fly out of the bowl onto everything. The washing machine is overloaded because life has been too busy to wash a load of clothes, so you cram the whole pile in the machine so everyone will have clean underwear and socks to wear the next day and floods the laundry floor…much less a paper magazine was mixed in with the clothes that made an absolute mess.  Aaagghhh!

Or it could be a phone call with news no one wants to hear.  It could be an argument with the kids.  It could be pain that will never seem to go away.

It’s just one of those days where you want to crawl back in bed and start the day over hoping that day has just been a dream.

If only there was some “life long guarantee” that life would always be peachy keen.  From experience, no one is guaranteed an easy life.  There are troubles all around us - in our country, our community, and even our lives.  Is there anything that can guarantee goodness in a life today that makes you feel dizzy as if you are spinning around and around on the Tea Cup ride at Disney?

Yes.  I think there is.

I’m choosing to believe to help me stand steady on the guarantees found in the Bible written by The Bestselling Author.

The entire Bible is one big promise from God.

All of those promises in the Old Testament were proven true through Jesus, and God continues to give us promises in the New Testament and in our personal lives today.  He promises to prepare us for His return through the assurance in His Word.

So here are some promises guaranteed to let us know or remind us of the goodness we can experience daily…even on the not so good days.

Holding on to these promises.

God is with you always   (Joshua 1:9)

He’s your guide and strength    (Psalm 73:23-26)

He will not forsake you  (Psalm 9:9-10)

You can share in His glory    (Romans 8:17)

You’ll never regret trusting Him (Romans 10:10)

He doesn't lie   (Titus 1:2)

There’s life after death   (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

His grace is plentiful  ( 2 Corinthians 12:9)

We so desperately need to hold onto those promises.
